THE FIELD HOUSE
In 2002, a football field house was included in the original plans for Station Camp High School. The project was cut due to a downturn in the economy and resulting budget cuts.
By 2009, the rapid growth of the Station Camp Football program from Class 1A to 6A resulted in the team outgrowing the existing weight room facility. The coaching staff and the Bison Quarterback Club began researching the type of facility needed and related funding options.
In 2010, the Founders 500 Club was created by the Bison Quarterback Club where the first 500 families to donate $100 to the building project will receive recognition on the completed facility. A separate account was established to be exclusively used for the field house building project.
In 2012, the Sumner County School Board was approached to help with the funding of the project. The School Board approved and allocated $250,000 towards the building project in 2013. Construction began on a 6,000-square-foot "shell" consisting of a pad, exterior walls and roof. Phase 1 construction was completed in 2014, with the inside remaining empty and unfinished.
In 2016, the Athletic Director and the Bison Quarterback Club jointly moved forward to obtain a non-secured loan of up to $250,000 from Volunteer State Bank for the completion of this facility.
The project was completed during the fall of 2017 and on Jan. 28, 2018, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held and the facility officially opened.
The Founder's Club is a fund exclusively for financial support for the Station Camp High School football field house. Any funds designated for the Founder's Club goes straight to paying the debt service for the field house.
